It's been so long since I've posted here! But, today I'm back with with a whole lot of empties. These empties have been accumulating for several months now and there was also quite a few more products than shown, but I accidentally put them for recycling before I could take photos - oops! Without further adieu, let's jump right into the things I’ve emptied, scooped and squeezed out until the last drop, in the past couple of months.
Osea Malibu Ocean Cleanser: I loved using this as a morning cleanse. The refreshing ocean-like scent helped awaken my sleepy eyes, while gently washing away any leftover products from the night before. My only complaint was that I found it rather difficult to dispense out of the tiny hole from the pump. Does anyone know if this is common or if the full size has the same issue? I was also quite bummed that I couldn't get out every last bit (yes it's that good!).
Mun Akwi Cleanser: This was the hero product of the December Beauty Heroes box and I absolutely loved it! It is a beautiful, Beautiful cleanser. Yes, expensive asf but if you're looking to #treatyoself this is the splurge. Not to mention, the scent is enjoyable–fresh and uplifting. Already repurchased.
FItglow Bliss Oil: This is a fantastic simple face oil. I mean simple in the best way possible. It is a combination of every oil that doesn’t cause breakouts- but it’s also a really vitamin-packed bunch of healing oils too (grapeseed oil, avocado oil, macadamia oil, jojoba oil, tamanu, noni and lavender). I wouldn't say it made a huge difference to my skin but it kept it balanced and looking healthy.
Josh Rosebrook Herbal Infusion Oil (review): I find myself purchasing this product over and over again. Not only is it a rockstar at removing makeup, but it's also a true multi-functional use oil. Thumbs up!
Osea Sea Vitamin Boost: I really enjoyed keeping this travel size mist in my purse. It is beyond refreshing and perfect for a mid day moisture spritz. If you are looking for a mist that has hydrating properties but does not leave any residue, then this is for you. Also, it doesn't have a scent which is perfect for those who are fragrant sensitive.
kimberlyloc x Rachel's Plan Bee Jasmine Body Oil: Ah, this body oil. I won this in a giveaway and was very excited about it, because I had seen the Rachel's Plan Bee line around IG but never really looked into it. Being a body oil hoarder, I welcomed this into my collection with open arms. I particularly loved it's delicious scent, and the fact that it's moisturizing, non-greasy and absorbs quickly. All important qualities in a body oil. Repurchase: Yes. I'm currently eyeing the new Coconut Beach scent for the summer.
kimberlyloc x Rachel’s Plan Bee Jasmine Body Polish: I’m a big fan of body scrubbing, and do it at least every other shower. This one is slightly rougher though so I limited it to 2x a week. Despite the rougher texture, it did not dry out my skin. Alternatively, my skin was always left feeling smooth and hydrated. It has the same earthy jasmine fragrance the matching body oil does. Repurchase: Yes, I've already gone ahead and picked up the full size in the original scent.
Maya Chia Waterless Wonder Balm: This balm is incredibly versatile and multi-use. I especially loved using it on my lips, for a hand massage before bed, or on ultra dry patches. The only thing I didn’t like? The smell! It was a limited edition scent that Maya Chia created for the January Beauty Heroes box and the scent just wasn't my favourite. That being said I would love to try the original version which i heard is an orange scent.
Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint: This is one of my favourite base products. I love the effect it has on the skin - it's quite smoothing and perfecting and gives an incredibly healthy-looking glow. It doesn’t provide much coverage—it’s even more sheer than a BB cream—but that’s probably what I like most about it. Already repurchased!
Maison Jacynthe Concealer 01: I'm usually not a fan of stick foundations or concealers, but I was quite impressed with this one! The concealer warms up readily and spreads easily. It doesn't tug on my delicate eye skin, which was my biggest fear and oh wow, is it pigmented! A couple strokes is all I needed to significantly brighten up my eye area. At $33, this concealer isn't cheap, but I'd say it's definitely worth it and I would probably repurchase this.
Innersense Color Awakening Shampoo: High quality, concentrated and actually lathers (less is more with the entire line) cleanses my hair & scalp without leaving them squeaky clean or dryed out. Smells like sweet oranges too, yum! My only problem with it (apart from how hard it is to find in Canada) is that my hair became a little greasy at the roots more quickly than with other shampoos but I think that might not be an issue for those with thicker hair. I have a few other shampoos on the go at the moment but may repurchase in the future.
David's Toothpaste: Favourite natural toothpaste & I don't want to be without it! This toothpaste is a great alternative for people who are used to a tube toothpaste and want to get something similar but in the natural realm. It smells minty fresh! The packaging is cute and the toothpaste leaves your mouth feeling clean. This will be a repeat purchase for me again and again.
Brush With Bamboo Toothbrush: I was skeptical about giving up the toothbrush bells and whistles I was used to but this gets my teeth just as clean. The brush holds up well and lasts an appropriate amount of time. The product and packaging are all eco friendly and sustainable too. I already have a couple back ups.
Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap: This soap has a million and one uses and is basically just a great item to keep on hand. I mostly use it for cleaning purposes -- makeup brushes, laundry, and more -- but it's also great as a body wash or hand soap. I actually prefer the unscented formula so I can add my own essential oils when I wish to do so.
THAT’S IT. Whew, marathon. But it feels good to finally throw those things out which have been accumulating for….awhile.
