RMS Beauty is a cult-favourite brand adored by make-up artists, super models and everyday girls alike. Created by celebrity make-up artist Rose-Marie Swift, the brands' less-is-more aesthetic goes further than the sleek, minimal packaging. All of the formulas are lightweight, consist of only a handful of ingredients and leave you dewy and fresh-faced. No brushes required—it's the un-makeup makeup. Once only procured in indie establishments, mainstream stores like Sephora are now carrying the line. If you are just transitioning to green beauty, updating your make-up bag, or just experimenting with makeup, these little pots of goodness are a fabulous place to start.
"Un" Cover Up— A multi-tasking foundation/concealer/whatever you want it to be, packed with coconut oil. It’s not drying nor greasy and seamlessly blends in with fingers over red patches and blemishes alike without a hint of cakeface. Each shade is created to self-adjust to the skin, the result is flawless, even coverage. It literally looks like you’re not wearing any makeup, and is chockfull of amazing ingredients. I'm one of those people that hates to see any visible evidence of my makeup in daylight, so I was happy to find this invisible option. You can read my full review here, or purchase it here, $45.
Living Luminizer— This is the best illuminator I have ever used – Clean or not. It goes on very sheer and it makes my skin look dewy, which definitely beats the frosted-eyeshadow-applied-to-the-cheekbones-look. Think of it as an extension of your own natural glow. I often get asked what I’m using to make my cheekbones pop and it’s always while I’m wearing the Living Luminizer. The trick is adding the organic highlighter to areas where light naturally hits your face; cheekbones, brow bone, cupids bow, bridge of nose and underneath the bottom lip. If I’ve had a particularly late night, I combine it with the uncover up and use it under my eyes as well – the glimmer (glimmer, because it’s far too subtle to call it shimmer) hides dark circles by reflecting light from them. This product is truly amazing. Find it here, $47.50.
Buriti Bronzer— This bronzer has quickly become a favourite! It's creamy, easy to blend and never looks streaky, orange or dirty on the skin. It creates the most beautiful warm healthy glow and makes you look like a bronzed goddess! It has this really beautiful golden sheen to it with no detectable glitter, shimmers or chunky sparkle. Apply the bronzer by pressing the colour into the skin along the cheekbones, forehead, jawline and anywhere else the sun naturally hits you face. I even dab a bit onto my eyelid for a natural makeup look. It contains wild crafted Buriti oil, which is the highest oil in Vitamin A, which is great for the skin, so you’re actually applying something nourishing for your skin at the same time. Find it here, $35.
Lip2Cheek— The concept of lip2cheek is not new for beauty brands, but I love this! I usually find two-in-one products to excel in one area and turn out to be a bit of a dud in the other, but this one looks and feels equally gorgeous (if I say so myself) on the pout and cheeks. It lasts forever too, since you only need a tiny bit for each application. The lip2cheek's are build-able. You can apply a little for a soft wash of colour or build them up for a more intense look. After I apply my bronzer I usually just add a touch of this on the apples of my cheeks and some on my lips for a pretty wash of colour. It's so quick and easy! I've been using the shade "Illusive", a matte burnt rose hue with a hint of plum. It gives you’re skin that sought after radiant glow, like after a yoga session! So pretty! Find it here, $45.
Happy obsessing over RMS!
