OSEA was inspired off the coast of Malibu, with the idea of uniting the elements—Ocean, Sun, Earth and Atmosphere--to refresh, rejuvenate, and restore skin to its highest level of healthy beauty. With deep respect for the four elements of our world OSEA has been creating nature based skincare products since the early 80’s. They are a family owned business, with a beautiful story of the healing powers of the ocean.
Throughout OSEA’s line you will find rich active ingredients, powerful botanicals, and a trio of organic Patagonian seaweeds. These seaweed are incredibly rich in nutrients because they absorb them from the clean oceans of Patagonia. Known for hydrating, plumping, age reducing, and protecting abilities seaweed is an essential skin health plant.
I was fortunate to test out three of OSEA's products and truthfully, none of them disappointed. While the chic packaging definitely caught my eye, the simple yet highly effective natural ingredients truly impressed me.
Ocean Cleanser— As you might know already, a good cleanser is one that removes impurities and "cleanses" your skin. But a GREAT cleanser is one that also leaves your skin feeling moisturized, without having your natural skin's oil completely washed away. OSEA's Ocean Cleanser does just that! It is creamy, smells fruity, and is perfect at cleansing the skin while keeping moisture balanced. This is one of those products that would suit any skin type, especially if you have dry or sensitive skin that can't handle the additional moisture loss that occurs with many foaming cleansers. A real skin treat and multi-tasker! Get it here, $44.
Atmosphere Protection Cream— We all know it’s important to protect our skin from the sun, but what about the air? This ultra-light, daily moisturizer uses organic seaweed and dermal proteins to protect against the pollutants and free radicals that we’re not always aware of. Fast hydrating, collagen boosting and skin protecting goodness from the sea – the Atmosphere Protection Cream is a great daily choice for just about any skin type (normal, combo, sensitive). Boosted with algae, macadamia oil, vitamin E, amino acids, and avocado oil there’s only good things to say here. It gives my skin just the right amount of moisture without making it greasy. It leaves a matte, silky finish, which I find to be the perfect base/primer for foundation. I’ve also had success using it under my eyes like an eye cream to reduce puffiness without irritation. I love, love, love everything about it! Get it here, $48.
Sea Vitamin Boost— The Sea Vitamin Boost is hydration in a bottle. It is beyond refreshing and is perfect for sun exposed skin during the summer months. Full of nourishing ingredients, the organic Patagonian Gigartina algae works to soothe, protect and hydrate to the max. The beautiful rosy colour is due to a powerful combination of pomegranate and red wine extracts, both containing anti-aging properties. A light mist to the face will keep your skin glowing and feeling ultra fresh. I spray a generous amount onto my skin as soon as I wake up, as well as before applying the Atmosphere Protection Cream. It helps to give my skin a boost, and prep it for the day. I’ve also been throwing it my purse and spritzing it throughout the day. If you are someone looking for a mist that has hydrating properties but does not leave any residue, then this is for you. Get it here, $38.
Well, that sums up my review of this beautiful line. As you can see, I’m a huge fan! I really can’t say enough about this green beauty line. You can check out their full range of products here. OSEA does an excellent job of detailing ingredients and sourcing, explaining their product delivery system, and detailing exactly which products are right for your skin right on their website. They also offer a dedicated travel size section so you can try each product before investing in a full size version.
Have you tried any OSEA skincare before? Which of their ocean-based products do you want to try first?
